It’s important
to care

Our brilliant colleagues play a huge role in helping us make and deliver great food. We care about our colleagues and really want them to feel part of our family business – to enjoy coming to work, to feel safe, included and valued. So we try our hardest to show everyone we care, we value them and they’re welcome in our Group.

Showing we care

It’s important to care is one of our values, and our Employee Benefits Trust makes sure really can care. On top of the business benefits, which all good businesses should offer, our Trust is there for every individual when they need some help and care.

EBT University
Degree Award

Our Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) offers financial awards each academic year to colleagues’ children/dependants who are studying or about to study at undergraduate degree or foundation degree level at a UK university.

wellbeing & rewards portal

Offering free access to a GP, counsellors and financial support for colleagues and their families, our portal has been popular with colleagues. It also offers discounts for over 700 services.

we’re there in times
of need

We also have an in-house crisis support line, where colleagues can talk to a member of the WJFG team who will help them find the right support quickly

Our Commitment
to CarE

In 2023 we launched our WJFG Commitment to Care, setting out how we would like all of our colleagues to look out for each other, no matter who they are or where they work…

Helping colleagues stay fit and healthy

The Trust also offers a team sports award to help colleagues, and their dependants, stay fit and active outside of work.

Celebrating our WJFG SUperstars

Our annual WJFG Superstar awards take place in Corby in November, and celebrate our colleagues who are living our values. We host a really special event and say thank you to them for going above and beyond. In addition to this, we have a monthly Appreciation Wall, where colleagues can thank each other for the smaller acts of kindness that are often lost in the every day

Bringing Colleagues together

Our businesses are all unique, operating in different areas of the food industry and in different areas of the UK, but we are one family and try regularly to bring colleagues together to meet each other and feel part of the Group. Historically we have held charity challenges and raised thousands of pounds for charity by conquering hills and mountains together, hosted our WJFG Dragon Boat Festival and also our Rounders & Archery Tournament.

In 2024, we’re looking forward to WJFG Strictly Come Dining, WJFG Raft Building and Racing, our Driver Challenge, our Snowden Charity Challenge and the WJFG Superstar Awards.

At our Rounders and Archery competition, our colleagues represented their business in a fiercely fought competition.

Every year we take on a challenge together, such as walking in the Peak District, to raise funds for charities close to our colleagues’ hearts.

There’s always plenty of smiles and laughter at our Dragon Boat Festival as our businesses fight it out for the winning title.

OUR VALUES

Our values maybe ask a lot of us in order for our Group to be successful, but it isn’t a one-way street. We are a family business with super-supportive Group of shareholders. Across generations, they have shown a proven enthusiasm for doing the right thing; being appreciative of the work our colleagues do, and reinvesting back into our businesses.

Community Giving

Our values and culture help us outside of work too – we believe a community should be a better place for having one of our businesses in it and each of our businesses works really hard to volunteer in their community.

All colleagues are given a paid day each year to use for volunteering – and each year we try to target our businesses to improve uptake of volunteering.

We also support colleagues through their own charity work with donations from our WJFG Community Giving Team.
