Hugely proud to support Opera North Singing School

Back in September 2014 we teamed up with Opera North as the main sponsor of a three-year Singing School at Bude Park Primary School. Since then, over 400 pupils have taken part in the project which focuses on using singing and expressive movement to have a positive impact on children’s aspirations,  communication and confidence.

As our partnership nears an end, we thought it would be the perfect time to take a look at the project’s impact:

Our Chairman, Nicholas Oughtred, said: “We’re delighted to have been involved with Opera North Singing School from its launch in 2014. It’s been a truly inspirational project that has had a real impact on the lives of many young people in Hull. We hope that all those who have been involved will be left with a lasting passion for singing and music.”

Opera North will continue to work with Bude Park Primary School as it becomes an Opera North Partner School, ensuring the legacy of the project continues.

BOOMing brilliant!

We’re thrilled to say that Abel & Cole’s Organic Guernsey Milk (from Nick Gosling, Berkeley Farm) won the Best Organic Dairy Product category at the Soil Association’s BOOM Awards.

BOOM stands for Best of Organic Market and it’s all about finding and celebrating organic makers, servers and sellers.

Abel & Cole’s organic large eggs were also shortlisted and came very close to winning as ‘highly commended’. Bright side, the eggs were served as an inventive canapé at the awards – scrambled, popped back in their shells and the egg box, and served with sourdough. Mmm! Check the photo out below.
And that’s not all… Abel & Cole also scooped a Good Egg and Good Chicken award from
Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) which is the leading farm animal welfare charity.
